Our rigorous corporate governance programme is made up of a board of directors, eight advisory boards, and five risk management executive councils. But most importantly, board-appointed clients also have a seat on the advisory and regional councils, and provide a vital perspective that inspires our long-term strategy.

Andrew Stafford

Operations senior vice president, operations manager

Andrew Stafford is operations senior vice president, operations manager, Australia and New Zealand. He is responsible for setting the strategic direction in Australia and New Zealand, executing corporate objectives and ensuring compliance with local regulations. He also oversees underwriting, engineering, claims, finance and human resources in the region.

Since joining FM Global in 1994 as a consultant engineer in Melbourne, Australia, Andrew has held a wide range of roles across the company including manager for field engineering training in Norwood, Massachusetts, USA, in 2000, and account manager for London operations in the U.K. in 2005. Andrew relocated back to Australia in 2008 as an account manager in Sydney before assuming the role of client service manager for Australia operations in 2011. In 2020, he assumed the role of regional manager AFM across Europe, UK and Australia before returning to Australia in 2022 in his current role.

Andrew holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mount Eliza Business School. Andrew is based in Sydney, Australia.
Paul May

Vice President – Operations Engineering Manager

Based in Melbourne, Paul leads the Operation’s Engineering Team with the goal of ensuring that cost effective client focused risk engineering solutions are delivered efficiently within Australia and New Zealand.

In this position Paul is responsible for all aspects of our engineering product delivery, with a particular focus on the quality and efficiency of our products from the clients’ perspective. Paul is our expert in Cyber Assessments, FM Global Analytics and Global Flood Maps.

Paul joined FM Global in the UK in 1994 and has worked in a number of roles, including Field Engineer, Training Specialist, Account Engineer and Group Manager before moving to Australia as Engineering Manager in 2010.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Nottingham University and is a Chartered Professional Engineer.
Andrea Garske

Vice President – Operations Claims Manager

Andrea is responsible for management of claims for FM Global and AFM Australia written accounts. Additionally, she manages loss adjustment activities with the Australia Operations geographical territory, providing first-hand experience in the strategic management of large and complex property damage and business interruption losses.

Andrea joined the Company in 2002 in Windsor UK, as an Adjuster. She then worked in Sydney for 5 years and our Paris Operation for 3 years, before returning at Australia as Claims Manager in 2016.

Andrea holds an Honours degree in Economics.
Greg Duncan

Vice President - Client Service Manager

Based in Sydney, Greg leads the insurance, underwriting and account management functions for FM Global in Australia and New Zealand. He is responsible for the delivery of our market leading insurance products and services, client retention, profitable growth as well as ensuring FM Global remains the employer of choice for talented insurance and risk management professionals in our region.

Greg is the industry leader for the Health, Education and Manufacturing industries.

During his time at FM Global, Greg has held several other roles including managing FM Global Business Risk Consulting throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining FM Global in 2009, Greg had 11 years of experience in banking, financial services and consulting.

Greg holds a Graduate Diploma of Finance (Risk Management) from ANZIIF, a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology (Sydney) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA Exec) from the University of New South Wales. Greg is Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Insurance Professional. Greg is a Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Welly Zhang

Regional Sales Manager Singapore Office

Welly is the regional sales manager for Asia operations. In her role, she leads Asia's new business development activities by bringing in well-aligned clients who view FM Global as trusted advisors and long-term strategic partners.

Welly started her career with FM Global in January 2002 as a consultant engineer in Dallas, Texas. She worked in Shanghai, China as a manager for FM Approvals, and manager of office engineering & training in Dallas.

In 2011, Welly returned to China as an engineering specialist working on Mega Project Shanghai Disneyland. In 2016, Welly started working as the manager for Global Services in AsiaPac.

Welly embarked on a new journey in 2022 and started her career as the Regional Sales Manager for Asia at FM Global. During her career with FM Global, Welly worked abroad in a number of countries including USA, Netherlands, Italy, Honduras, Mexico, and various countries across Asia.
Sean Davidson

Operations Vice President – Asst Client Service Manager

“Based in Melbourne, Sean shares responsibility for leading the insurance, underwriting and account management functions for FM Global in Australia and New Zealand. He is responsible for the delivery of our market leading insurance products and services, client retention, profitable growth as well as supporting FM Global’s aspirations to being the employer of choice for talented insurance and risk management professionals in our region.

During his time at FM Global, Sean worked as a Field Engineering Consultant in the UK. In 2005, he moved to Australia bringing with him field and client service experience as an Account Engineer. Sean took up the Account Manager role in the late 2007 and moved back to Melbourne in 2010.

Prior to joining FM Global, Sean had 6 years experience in construction project management within the paper industry.

Sean holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds”
Warren Richards

Operations Vice President – Operations Chief Underwriter

Based in Sydney, Warren provides technical underwriting direction for Australia and New Zealand to ensure underwriting is within FM Global’s risk appetite and leads to profitable growth. He is also responsible for the training and development of underwriting staff and the implementation of corporate initiatives.

Warren is the industry leader for Semiconductor industries.

During his time at FM Global, Warren has held several roles including Account Engineer, Account Engineering Manager and Chief Underwriting Technical Specialist in Australia as well as working in the Staff Underwriting group in Johnston, RI, USA as a Senior Underwriting Specialist.

Prior to joining FM Global in 1997, Warren worked for Kemper Insurance in a variety of engineering roles in Australia, North America and Europe.

Warren holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Curtin University in WA and a Master of Business Administration (MBA Exec) from the University of New South Wales.
