Our rigorous corporate governance programme is made up of a board of directors, eight advisory boards, and five risk management executive councils. But most importantly, board-appointed clients also have a seat on the advisory and regional councils, and provide a vital perspective that inspires our long-term strategy.

  • Lynette Schultheis

    Senior Vice President – Operations Manager

    Sydney, Australia

    Lynette sets the strategic direction in Australia, executes corporate objectives and ensures compliance with local regulations. She is also responsible for underwriting, engineering, claims, finance and human resources.

    Lynette joined the company in 1986 and has held various positions in client service, underwriting and management. Most recently, she was the regional senior vice president of Europe for AFM.

    Lynette received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana, Ill., USA, and holds the CPCU designation.

  • Paul May

    Vice President – Operations Engineering Manager

    Paul May

    Based in Melbourne, Paul leads the Operation’s Engineering Team with the goal of ensuring that cost effective client focused risk engineering solutions are delivered efficiently within Australia and New Zealand.

    In this position Paul is responsible for all aspects of our engineering product delivery, with a particular focus on the quality and efficiency of our products from the clients’ perspective.

    Paul joined FM Global in the UK in 1994 and has worked in a number of roles, including Field Engineer, Training Specialist, Account Engineer and Group Manager before moving to Australia as Engineering Manager in 2010.

    Paul holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Nottingham University and is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland.

  • Andrea Garske

    Vice President – Operations Claims Manager

    Andrea Garske

    Andrea is responsible for management of claims for FM Global and AFM Australia written accounts. Additionally, she manages loss adjustment activities with the Australia Operations geographical territory, providing first-hand experience in the strategic management of large and complex property damage and business interruption losses.

    Andrea joined the Company in 2002 in Windsor UK, as an Adjuster. She then worked in Sydney for 5 years and our Paris Operation for 3 years, before returning at Australia as Claims Manager in 2016.

    Andrea holds an Honours degree in Economics.

  • Greg Duncan

    Vice President - Client Service Manager

    Based in Sydney, Greg leads the insurance, underwriting and account management functions for FM Global in Australia and New Zealand. He is responsible for the delivery of our market leading insurance products and services, client retention, profitable growth as well as ensuring FM Global remains the employer of choice for talented insurance and risk management professionals in our region.

    Greg is the industry leader for the Health, Education and Manufacturing industries.

    During his time at FM Global, Greg has held several other roles including managing FM Global Business Risk Consulting throughout the Asia Pacific region.

    Prior to joining FM Global in 2009, Greg had 11 years of experience in banking, financial services and consulting.

    Greg holds a Graduate Diploma of Finance (Risk Management) from ANZIIF, a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology (Sydney) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA Exec) from the University of New South Wales. Greg is Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Insurance Professional. Greg is a Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

  • James Thompson

    Vice President – Regional Sales Manager

    As Regional Sales Manager, James is responsible for overseeing the development of new business for FM Global in Australia and New Zealand. 

     

    Prior to assuming this role in 2018, James was Vice President, Manager of Underwriting and Global Services, Asia-Pacific Division.  In this role, James was responsible for management of the Asian WorldReach Partner network and leadership of all underwriting activity within the Asia-Pacific region.

     

    James was previously Division Underwriting Manager for the broader territory of Europe, Middle East Africa and Asia-Pacific, located in FM Global’s Windsor, United Kingdom office.  He has also served as Client Service Manager for FM Global’s Australian Operations in Melbourne;  managed the engineering of natural hazards for the Staff Engineering group in Johnston, RI, USA; been Group Manager of Field Engineering and a Special Chemical Risks engineer servicing FM Global clients in Asia.

     

    James joined FM Global in 1993 as a Field Engineer.

    James holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering, both from the University of Melbourne.  He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

  • Michael Stuckings

    Vice President – Chief Engineer

    Sydney, Australia

    In his current role as Operation’s Chief Engineer, Michael is responsible for the technical quality of the loss prevention engineering services provided to client locations throughout Australia and New Zealand. This includes development of pragmatic risk mitigation measures and implementation of corporate initiatives focused on loss prevention engineering. Michael is also involved in a number of external organisations including the Insurance Council of Australia, Fire Protection Association of Australia and Standards Australia. 

    Since joining FM Global in 2001, Michael has worked as a consultant engineer and as a Group Manager. Michael’s prior experience includes 10 years working as an electrical engineer in both the coal mining and water/wastewater industries where he gained skills in design engineering, project management, maintenance and operations.

    He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Newcastle and is a Chartered Professional Engineer. Michael also holds a Masters of Commerce (Finance) from the University of NSW.
